People in the Dufferin and Eglinton area can’t afford to pay higher property tax, TTC fares

TORONTO – Mayoral candidate Anthony Perruzza was in the Fairbank area of Midtown Toronto speaking with local shoppers about affordability and what the next mayor can do to help.

“People are telling me all of their bills have gone up,” said Perruzza. “We shouldn’t be making life even more expensive. That’s why I won’t raise their property taxes. I won’t raise city fees, or TTC fares. We have to stop putting a heavier burden on Torontonians during this time of high inflation.”

Perruzza announced that he will not raise city property taxes, TTC fares or fees for three years.

“We need a better deal for Toronto,” said Perruzza. “We need to keep the $2 billion we give away to the province in property taxes and invest it in building a better city.”
