Mayoral candidate Anthony Perruzza opposed the move of the Ontario Science Centre to downtown.

“It’s a bad idea to rip out the Science Centre from the communities that depend on it, and take it away from thousands of children, young people, and families” said Perruza.  “The move shows disrespect for the suburbs.”

Perruzza pointed out that the area around the science centre is a Neighbourhood Improvement Area and one of the most densely populated in the city.  The area doesn’t have the infrastructure to support even more density.

“Stop this move,” said Perruzza.  “Keep the Ontario Science Centre here and keep investing in Toronto’s suburbs.”

“As Mayor, I will look out for all Torontonians.”
